What is a referral task

A Referral task incentivizes users to refer others to your claimr campaign, expanding your reach and growing your community.

Use Referral tasks to:

  • Increase campaign participation by encouraging users to invite their friends and contacts.

  • Reward users for successful referrals, motivating them to spread the word about your campaign.

  • Track the effectiveness of your referral program and identify your most influential advocates.

  • Expand your audience and reach new potential customers.

  • Build a strong community of engaged participants.

For detailed information about general task settings, including task name, header, description, rewards, dependencies, and more, refer to Task settings.

Task Type

This section allows you to choose the specific type of task you want to create for your campaign.

  1. Select Web to indicate that the task will be completed online.

  2. Select Referral Link to specify that the task involves sharing a referral link.

Once you've selected both, move on to configuring the specific settings for your referral task.

Task settings

Pro Tip: Offer a tiered reward system, where users earn increasing points for referring more people. This can create a sense of progression and excitement for participants.

Campaign destination URL

What it is: This is the specific link you want users to share with their friends. It could be a landing page or a product page, where your campaign is published. How to edit: Paste the full URL into the field. Ensure it's accurate and leads to the desired destination.

Tracking URL tag (optional)

What it is: This is an advanced feature that allows you to track the effectiveness of your referral program through specific tags added to your campaign destination URL. How to edit: Select a tag from a dropdown.

Minimum referrals to complete task

What it is: Set the number of successful referrals required for participants to complete this task and earn rewards. How to edit: Enter the desired number of referrals in the field. Consider starting with a low number to encourage participation and gradually increase it through other quests as your campaign gains momentum.

Points per referral

What it is: Determine the number of points (XP) users will earn for each successful referral. This is your way of rewarding their efforts and incentivizing them to bring in more friends. . How to edit: Enter the desired number of points in the field. Make sure the reward is attractive enough to motivate participation.

Your participants will receive referral points for each invited user, even if they don't complete the entire task.

Show referrals xp

Show refferals xp toggle determines whether or not participants can see the amount of experience points (XP) they can earn from referrals on a specific task.

  • Toggle on: If the toggle is switched on (green), the potential referral points reward will be visible to participants alongside the quest details. This can incentivize them to share the quest with their friends.

  • Toggle off: If the toggle is switched off (gray), the potential referral points will be hidden from participants. This can be useful if you want to emphasize other aspects of the quest or create a sense of mystery around the rewards.
