UGC tasks

What are UGC tasks?

User Generated Content (UGC) tasks in claimr are designed to help you reward users for creating and sharing content across social platforms. Unlike Proof of Work tasks, which focus on verifying static evidence (image, link, or text), UGC tasks allow you to directly connect with social activity — such as videos, impressions, or post links — and optionally reward users based on reach (e.g., views or impressions).

Use UGC tasks to:

  • Encourage content creation: Let users share posts, videos, or links related to your campaign across platforms like TikTok, X (Twitter), and YouTube.

  • Track post performance: Monitor impressions or views to evaluate content visibility and reward top contributors accordingly.

  • Automate point assignment: Automatically assign points for completing tasks and, optionally, additional points based on engagement (e.g., per 1,000 views).

  • Support multi-platform strategies: Customize tasks depending on the platform — with individual options for links, images, impressions, or full video submissions.

All UGC tasks fall into two categories:

  • Tracking tasks: Automatically track performance metrics such as impressions or views.

  • Submission tasks: Ask users to submit a link or file (like a video or image).

For detailed information about general task settings, including task name, header, description, rewards, dependencies, and more, refer to Task settings.

Configure UGC task

To configure any UGC task in claimr:

  1. Go to your campaign and click Create Task.

  2. Under the Category section, select User Generated Content.

  3. Choose one of the available UGC task types:

    • Track X Post Impressions – tracks impressions from X (Twitter)

    • Track TikTok Impressions – tracks views on a TikTok video

    • Track YouTube Impressions – tracks views on a YouTube video

    • Submit TikTok Video – user submits a TikTok link

    • Submit YouTube Video – user submits a YouTube link

    • UGC Image – user uploads an image

    • UGC Link – user submits a URL

  4. Click Continue to proceed to task settings.

While each task type has a slightly different purpose, their configuration is nearly identical — with one key difference based on whether the task is tracking or submission-based.

Tracking tasks

These tasks track metrics like impressions or views:

  • Track X Post Impressions

  • Track TikTok Impressions

  • Track YouTube Impressions

Completion points: The number of points awarded when the user completes the task.

Points Multiplier (%): Add a percentage-based bonus to the total reward. For example, a 20% multiplier increases the final reward by 20%.

Recurrence: Control how often users can complete the task:

  • Once – can only be completed one time per user.

  • Daily – available once every 24 hours.

  • Weekly – available once every 7 days.

  • Multiple – stays open and can be completed as many times as needed, one after another, without any waiting time. Read more about this option below.

Points per 1,000 views: Reward users based on how many views or impressions their content receives. For example, setting this to 100 means the user gets 100 extra points per 1,000 verified views.

Submission tasks

These tasks ask users to submit a file or a link:

  • Submit TikTok Video

  • Submit YouTube Video

  • UGC Image

  • UGC Link

Completion points: The number of points given after the user submits valid content.

Points multiplier (%): Add an optional bonus. The multiplier increases the base reward by a percentage. For example, if your completion points are set to 100 and your multiplier is 5%, the final reward is 105 points.

Recurrence: Define how often users can complete the task: once, daily, weekly, multiple times

These tasks do not include the “Points per 1,000 views” field, since they are not tied to performance tracking.

Once you’re done:

  • Click Create task to save and add it to your quest right away. You’ll now see the task listed in your quest. From there, you can reorder it, delete it, or edit it anytime.

  • Or, click Advanced settings to continue configuring more options specific to the selected task type. To find out more, read our Task settings article.

How the "Multiple” setting looks for users

When a UGC task is set to recurrence = multiple, the user will see a gallery sourced from their connected account and the history of sent content.

Needs a nice SS

Here’s how the experience works:

  1. The user connects their account and sees all available media items in their gallery.

  2. They select the video(s) they want to submit.

  3. After submitting, the item moves to the History section and becomes locked — meaning it can’t be resubmitted.

  4. If more items are available in their gallery, they can continue submitting them immediately, one by one.
